Below is a brief overview of the key points required by customs for trucking in the EU and contracting country parties for issuing a Transit-Document (T-Document).
To-do for customers:
For all non-Union goods (goods originating outside the EU):
- Provide 6-digit HS codes at the lowest level:
- HAWB for consolidated shipments
- AWB for direct shipments
For Union goods for export (goods originating inside the EU):
- Provide 8-digit HS codes at the lowest level:
- HAWB for consolidated shipments
- AWB for direct shipments
- Make the Export Declaration data available to the carrier.
To avoid shipments getting stopped or delayed, ensure these customs requirements (e.g. HS Code) are fulfilled.
